We believe in slow living and we strive for a more ethical and sustainable fashion, fair with people, and fair with the environment.
Recover is a womenswear label founded in Hackney, east London. Inspired by vintage pure lines and aesthetic, we want to make honest good quality clothes.
Our first concern is to reduce to the minimum our environmental impact. To do so we always try to source our fabrics locally from end of lines, to avoid shipping materials from around the world, and so keeping our carbon footprint low. It means as well that we are not using new fabrics for our collections but instead recycling fabrics leftovers.
This system allows us to have a great versatility in the collections. This also means that we cannot guarantee that a garment will always be restocked with the same fabric once the collection is sold out.
Besides we cannot be always 100 % sure of the fabric composition. We will always notify it on the product page whether we do have the full composition or not.
We always aim to work with natural fibres as they are more environmentally friendly, mostly linen and cotton.
Making & production
In order to reduce waste, we produce in really small scale.
Please allow some time for our products to be back in stock and listed on the website. (Please note: as referred above, the garment may have a different fabric according to sourcing).
Our labels are made from the leftovers of the fabric used in the sampling process.
We ship all our products in a reusable fabric bag made from the leftovers of the production.
Every piece is designed from our studio in east London. All our garments have been pattern cut and sampled with Fabricworks, a great nonprofit social organisation who focuses on training women and creating employment in Limehouse, east London. Every product has been made by Seny, our amazing seamstress from her studio in Catford, south London.
